Jeanette Egeland- Russell
Jeanette A. Egeland- Russell, age 75 of Richland, Washington, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at Brookdale Richland.
Jeanette was born June 10, 1947, in Grafton, daughter of the late Florian and Sophie (Pokrzywinski) Kasprick. She attended Polaski Township Country School and graduated from Grafton High School in 1963. She enjoyed playing the accordion and even played on a Grand Forks TV concert. She was united in marriage to the late David Gary Egeland on Dec. 10, 1966. They moved to Moses Lake, Washington, in 1976. She worked for Skaug Brothers, a local family store, where she developed a reputation for customer service and interior design. Columbia Paint then recruited her to manage their new store. Jeanette’s management style and care for customers made her a favorite of homeowners and contractors alike, resulting in her store being one of the most profitable in the Northwest for many years. Unfortunately, Jeanette’s physical health led to an early retirement. In 2016, she moved to Brookdale Richland in Richland. She enjoyed playing (and winning!) bingo and socializing with fellow residents. She was a favorite with many of the Brookdale staff. She also enjoyed playing (and winning!) Yahtzee, going out to dinner and taking walks along the river with her daughter and son-in-law. She cherished visiting other family in Bend, Oregon, Priest Lake, Idaho, and Spokane, Washington.
Jeanette is survived by her children: Amy ( Jeff ) Sperline, Mike ( Tracie) Egeland and Daniel (Jennifer) Egeland; brothers, George (Bertha) Kasprick and Jim (Barb) Kasprick; sister, Theresa ( Mike) Campbell; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Gary Egeland; and parents, Florian and Sophie Kasprick.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Brookdale Richland, Washington. Interment will be at Grafton
