The annual Grinding Day at Old Mill State Park will be held Sunday, August 25, from 11 am to 4 pm. Visitors to the event will be able to visit the pioneer cabin, see the historic steam powered mill in operation, and watch bread making demonstrations. Fresh ground flour will be available and lunch will be served by the Viking Volcanoes. Beginning at 1:30 pm music will be provided by The Texas Connection, a group from northwest Minnesota.
Their music includes a wide variety of old time, country, 50s and 60s. Grinding Day wouldn’t be complete without an appearance from Lars Larson Jr., to tell you about the history of the park and mill. This event is free, but a vehicle permit is required to enter the park.
