From the Mat to the Coach’s Chair

Meet the new Gator Wrestling Coach
Kaydell Super

The head coaching title is new but the name and face is definitely recognizable in the Gator Wrestling Program. Isaac Novacek will step in to fill the shoes of retiring head coach Todd Bergeron for the 2019-2020 season.

Isaac is a 2012 graduate of GMR High School and left his mark in the Gator Wrestling Program ending his career with a 187-34 win loss record. He placed at state three times and won the state title his sophomore year. He also traveled the country during the summers to continue wrestling and made life-long friends. His high school highlight is a toss-up..... winning the state title or his team making it to state his senior year.

After high school, Isaac attended Minnesota State University Moorhead, graudating in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Project Management. He continued his wrestling career in college where he had a very successful career as a four year starter and was team captain for the Dragons. “I grew up a lot in college,” shared Isaac. “I found out that there is a whole other level of commitment when you are wrestling in college. I met life-long friends and grew not only as a wrestler but as a person as well. It was necessary to be dedicated to my studies as well as athletics.”
