Olga M. Fetsch, 97, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.
Olga Margaret Kotaska was born June 1, 1920 in rural Pisek ND the daughter of Frank and Helen (Jelinek) Kotaska. She was raised in Pisek and graduated from Pisek High School. Olga moved to Grand Forks and went on to graduate from Aaker’s Business College. She was employed with Implement Dealers Insurance and later in the Business Department of St. Michael’s Hospital. Olga married Eugene “Gene” Fetsch on April 19, 1948 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Following their marriage, they resided in Grand Forks owning and operating Gene’s Grocery. Olga was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Parish Altar Society and for many years, served on the Parish Funeral Committee. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed family vacations and spending time at Union Lake in Minnesota. Eugene preceded her in death on July 12, 2002.
She is survived by her sons, Denis (Jan) Fetsch, Fisher, MN, Tom (Kathy) Fetsch, Bob (Mary) Fetsch, Glenn (Deb) Fetsch, Randy (Elaine) Fetsch, all of Grand Forks, ND; her daughters, Vicki (Dave) Root, Grand Rapids, MN, Janice (John) Proulx, Crookston, MN; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; a sister, Marian Welwood and a grandson, Scott Proulx.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Olga request that memorials be given to St. Michael’s Church Foundation, 418 North 6th Street Grand Forks, ND 58203.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a 9:30 a.m. rosary service in the church on Saturday.
Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND, in the spring.
