Viola M. Funseth

Viola M. Funseth, age 74 of Park River, ND, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Park River.
 
Viola Mildred Pecka was born November 17, 1942 in Park River, ND, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Novak) Pecka. She attended school in Conway. After her education she worked for various farmers in the area. Viola was united in marriage to Daniel Jelinek on January 12, 1963 in Pisek, ND. The couple lived in the Conway and Fordville area where they raised their four children. Daniel passed away January 31, 1979. She met and was united in marriage to Kenneth Funseth on January 17, 1981 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Park River. Viola continued to work for area farmers until her retirement in 2005. She then helped raise her grandchildren. She was a loving, caring, compassionate, faithful grandmother. She loved them unconditionally just like they loved her unconditionally. She was strong in her faith. Her love for God and Jesus was unconditional and stood on their name.
 
She was a former member of the Christian Faith Church and currently attended Victory Free Lutheran Church.
 
Viola is survived by her husband, Kenneth Funseth, Park River, ND; her children: Timmy (Teri Jo) Jelinek, Park River, ND; Janie (Dean) Kram, Walhalla, ND; Laura (Peter) Hunter, Park River, ND; Robert Jelinek, Conway, ND; grandchildren: Cassy Gilbertson, Cody Melland, Adin Petersen, Daniel Jelinek, Tanner Jelinek, Rebecca Bratlie, Emily Bratlie and Alexia Langowski; step-grandchildren: Carissa Hunter, Caylee (Brent) Ellingston, Carter Hunter, Cadyn Hunter, Callan Hunter, Daniel Klimek and David Klimek; step-great-grandchildren: Hadler Ellingson and Clover Rose Klimek; siblings: Mamie Lien, Conway, ND; Edward (Eunice) Pecka, Lankin, ND; Tom Pecka, Conway, ND; sisters-in-law: Julie Pecka, McVille, ND; Helen Gosselin, Minto, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daniel, siblings: Shirley Henningsgard, Sylvia (Don) Slevodnik, Steve Pecka and brother-in-law, Elden Lien.
 
Memorial Services will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. at the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at St. Mark’s Catholic Cemetery, Conway, ND, in the spring.
