Keith J. Simon

Keith J. Simon, age 62 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.
 
Keith Simon was born October 2, 1954 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of the late Orvaille and Alfreda (Mueller) Simon. He lived with his parents in their home until July 27, 1967 when he moved to the Grafton State School, now known as the Life Skills and Transition Center. He moved to Park River in 1985 where he lived in several locations before moving back in with his parents in May of 1997. In December of 1997 he moved in with his sister Lynette and later his other sister’s before moving to Grafton where he was currently living with Marlene Gunderson and her family under the Adult Foster Care Program.
 
He began working with the Work Activity Program in 1986 and worked at the Agassiz Animal Hospital and later the Club Bar and Hot Stuff Pizzeria. Keith was currently employed with All Season’s Laundry where he began in 2006 and was serving as an assistant manager which he was very proud of.
 
He enjoyed watching hockey, going to concerts and musicals, movies, traveling, photography, camping, books, and bowling.
 
Keith is survived by his siblings: Mervin (Marilyn) Simon, Conway, ND, Faye (George) Moen, Park River, ND, Cheryl (Tim) Daley, Park River, ND, Arlen Simon, Park River, ND, Marlowe Simon, Park River, ND, Lynette (Alleyn) Olsonoski, Fessenden, ND, Curtis (Candy) Simon, Park River, ND, and special friend and caretaker, Marlene Gunderson, Grafton, ND. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Luetta Simon, brothers: Gerald and Alan Simon, and sister-in-law Monica Simon.
 
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery of Park River.
